Cambodian Cubensis: Patience Rewarded with Massive Flushes

The Cambodian Psilocybe cubensis was originally collected in the Angkor Wat region of Cambodia, one of the most celebrated archaeological sites in Southeast Asia. This variety takes its time, colonising slightly slower than other cubensis kits, but the payoff is worth the wait. When the Cambodian finally begins to fruit, it produces notably large flushes with dense clusters of mushrooms emerging almost simultaneously across the substrate surface.

A Warm-Climate Variety

The Cambodian's tropical origin is reflected in its temperature preferences. It performs best at 22-26 degrees C, slightly warmer than the B+ or Mexican. This makes it an ideal kit for warmer rooms or summer cultivation, though a heat mat extends its season into autumn and winter. The fruiting bodies are medium to large, with light golden caps on sturdy stems. They grow in tight clusters, which makes for visually impressive flushes.

The initial colonisation to pinning phase may take a few days longer than with a B+ or Colombian, but the flush size more than compensates. Shelf life refrigerated: three to six months.
