Colombian Cubensis: Fast Coloniser with Tropical Vigour

The Colombian Psilocybe cubensis traces its genetics to the lush tropical highlands of Colombia, where the species thrives in warm, humid conditions year-round. This is a variety that means business: it colonises the substrate faster than almost any other cubensis in the range, and once pinning starts, the flushes come thick and fast. The fruiting bodies are dense and compact, medium-sized with rounded caps that hold their shape well through harvest and drying.

Speed That Sets It Apart

Colonisation speed is the Colombian's calling card. Where a Cambodian or Mazatapec might take 10-14 days to show first pins, the Colombian often has visible growth within 7-10 days under optimal conditions (22-25 degrees C). This faster turnaround means less time waiting and a shorter window for contamination to take hold. The kit arrives fully colonised with a growth bag, air filters and paper clips. Two to four flushes per kit is typical, sometimes more. The Colombian prefers slightly warmer temperatures than some varieties, performing best at 23-26 degrees C.
