Purple Urkle x Big Bud Indica Feminized
Granddaddy Purple is the result of crossing Purple Urkle and Big Bud, producing a plant that inherits the best of both parents: deep purple colouration from Purple Urkle and large, dense bud structure from Big Bud. The terpene profile is a rich mix of fruity, floral, and skunky aromas with sweet and sour undertones. When the purple pigmentation fully develops during the final weeks of flowering, the visual impact is striking.
Growing Characteristics
An indica-dominant hybrid that flowers in 10 to 11 weeks. Indoors she stays short and stocky during vegetation, then stretches to 120-140 cm during bloom. She develops one central bud with long side branches that fill out generously. Good resistance to heat, cold, and mould thanks to her Skunk heritage. Outdoors she grows into a large bush reaching up to 180 cm.
Supporting plants during late flowering with a net or stakes is recommended because the buds become genuinely heavy. Indoor yields can reach 750 g/m2 under optimal conditions. The purple colouration intensifies with cooler night temperatures during flowering, though she will produce purple hues regardless. Her relatively thick stems handle the bud weight well, but extra support ensures no branches snap.
In Your Seed Shop
Purple strains have strong visual appeal and consistent customer demand. Granddaddy Purple is one of the originals and most recognised names in the purple category. Easy to grow, which means fewer customer complaints. A solid addition alongside Purple Haze Feminized for a dedicated purple section in your Inner Earth Seeds display.
Yes, Granddaddy Purple carries strong purple genetics from the Purple Urkle parent. The colouration appears naturally during flowering and intensifies with cooler night temperatures. Even in warmer conditions, you will see purple tones developing in the buds and leaves.
Due to the Big Bud genetics, the buds become very dense and heavy. A SCROG net or bamboo stakes during the final weeks of flowering prevent branches from snapping under their own weight, especially on the lower side branches.
For a purple-themed display, combine with Purple Haze Feminized and Lavender Feminized. Three distinct purple varieties with different genetic backgrounds give your customers real choice.
