What is Palo Santo
Palo Santo (Sacred Wood) is a type of wood that has been used for generations by shamans and medicine men in South America in ceremonies, rituals, healing and purification sessions to cleanse the negative in the environment. In daily life, Palo Santo Wood is mainly used to energetically cleanse spaces and objects, similar to white sage.
Many people find that White Sage has a penetrating scent and therefore choose Palo Santo more and more often. It has a soft, sweet, warm and soothing scent and works many people at least as well as white sage.
Use
Light one end of the stick and let it burn for a few seconds. Then blow out the flame. Let the stick glow further and spread the magic Palo Santo smoke through the room or over objects that you want to ritually cleanse. This creates a positive atmosphere.
Properly stored Palo Santo sticks keep their resinous scent for years. Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The natural oils in the wood actually concentrate over time, so older stock often burns with a richer aroma.
