Copelandia Hawaiian Grow Kit | Psilocybe Panaeolus
The Copelandia Hawaiian (Panaeolus cyanescens) is a distinct species, not a Psilocybe cubensis. Significantly higher psilocybin concentrations than any cubensis variety. Delicate, thin-stemmed fruiting bodies. Premium grow kit for experienced cultivators only.
Copelandia Hawaiian: A Different Species Entirely
Panaeolus cyanescens, commonly known as Copelandia or the Hawaiian mushroom, is not a Psilocybe cubensis. It is a distinct species with significantly higher psilocybin concentrations than any cubensis variety in the range. The fruiting bodies are delicate and thin-stemmed, almost ethereal compared to the robust cubensis mushrooms. This kit contains the Ogre Boy strain, one of the first Copelandia strains isolated for indoor cultivation, known for its relatively manageable growing requirements within an otherwise demanding species.
Precision Cultivation Required
Copelandia is not a kit you hand to a first-timer. It requires more precise environmental control than any cubensis variety. The ideal temperature range is narrow: 23-26 degrees C, with consistent high humidity that must be maintained without saturating the substrate. The kit arrives fully colonised with a growbox, plastic moisture bag, information manual and paper clips. You will need a spray bottle, a clean working area, and ideally a heat mat for temperatures below 22 degrees C.
When harvesting, use scissors at the base of each mushroom to avoid disturbing the top soil layer, which is critical for subsequent flushes. The delicate stems bruise intensely blue when handled, a visible indicator of the high psilocybin content. Contamination risk is higher with Copelandia than with cubensis, so cleanliness during the process is essential.
Premium Product, Premium Price Point
Copelandia kits command the highest price in the grow kit category and attract experienced customers who already own cubensis kits and want the next challenge. This is not a beginner product, and marketing it as such would invite returns. Stock alongside a Heat Mat and Trip Stopper as recommended add-ons. For customers not ready for Copelandia, direct them to the cubensis grow kits.
Copelandia (Panaeolus cyanescens) is a completely different species from Psilocybe cubensis. It produces thinner, more delicate fruiting bodies with significantly higher psilocybin concentrations. Cultivation requires more precise temperature and humidity control.
No. The Copelandia requires more experience and precision than any cubensis kit. First-time growers should start with a B+ Grow Kit or Mexican before attempting Copelandia.
The intense blue bruising is caused by the oxidation of psilocybin and psilocin when the cell walls are damaged. The more concentrated the psilocybin content, the more pronounced the bluing reaction. Copelandia's significantly higher psilocybin levels make the bruising much more visible than in cubensis species.
