    Cacao Butter - Ecuador 1000g

    Our Cacao Butter is the pure oil extracted from the whole raw cacao bean. The oil is made using a cold-pressing technique where the temperature never exceeds 60°C, ensuring the high quality and nutritional integrity of this product.

    “Arriba Nacional” is one of the so-called fine cocoa varieties, which are characterized by a particularly fine taste profile, and grow exclusively in Ecuador and parts of Colombia. From the raw cocoa beans of the “Arriba Nacional”, our partners on-site produce non-deodorized raw cocoa butter for us. By not using deodorization, the butter retains a light, wonderful cocoa smell. Real cocoa fans will get their money's worth here! Cocoa butter is ideal for making homemade natural cosmetics (lip balm, body lotion, after sun, etc.). Plant-based butter is also a great ingredient in vegan baking (particularly tasty: banana bread and cocoa baked goods!).

    Our Cacao Butter has a lovely ‘chocolatey’ aroma and is a delicious ingredient in raw chocolate, cake, and dessert making. Try a teaspoon of it on top of your porridge in the morning to raise your meal up to a sumptuous, silky treat.

    Unlike conventional cocoa butter, raw cocoa butter is cold-pressed. By pressing the raw cocoa mass, the fat (butter) is separated from the hard components (powder). A quality feature is the light color of our butter, which shows that the raw cocoa mass was cold-pressed. In this way, the fine cocoa smell is retained and unpleasant roasted aromas are avoided. During further processing, it should be noted that cocoa butter behaves somewhat differently than animal milk butter. Cocoa butter melts in the hand at body temperature (therefore well suited for body lotion and Co.) and is also highly heatable.

    Ecuador used to be part of the Inca Empire and is considered the country of origin of cocoa. The cocoa variety "Arriba Nacional" comes from Ecuador, which, as fine cocoa, pampers the taste buds all over the world. The cocoa from this project comes from the Los Ríos, Esmeraldas, and Manabí region and is allowed to grow in mixed cultures. It is collected by locals and then brought to the smallholder cooperatives for fermentation and drying. There the cocoa is gently refined into various products.
